Former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Dr. Obadiah Mailafia, has said that the Department of State Services has invited him to its Jos office ostensibly to expatiate on certain weighty statements and allegations he made during an interview on a Lagos-based radio program, Morning Crossfire, on Nigeria Info Fm. He was speaking on the crisis in Southern Kaduna in Kaduna State.
Mailafia confirmed the development to a Punch newspaper correspondent in Jos on Tuesday.
He said, “Yes, it true. The DSS invited me to appear in their Jos office tomorrow (Wednesday) by noon.”
In the said interview, Mailafia, a presidential candidate on the platform of the African Development Congress in the 2019 general elections, had among many other grave allegations, claimed that some repentant Boko Haram commanders had told him that a serving governor in northern Nigeria is a Boko Haram commander.
Some of the other allegations Dr. Mailafia made on the radio show included; planes brought supplies (arms, ammunition, funds) to the terror group during the period of COVID-19 lockdown despite government’s ban on flights, Boko Haram plans to cause a civil war in Nigeria in 2020, and others.
